DeGeneres has also come under fire for how she has treated her staff during the pandemic. According to Variety, no one has communicated with the crew on The Ellen DeGeneres Show about their jobs and paychecks. And, a former bodyguard has described DeGeneres as “cold” and “dehumanizing.”

Despite all of the negative comments and rumors, the ratings for The Ellen DeGeneres Show have been just fine during the pandemic. One insider pointed out that the comedian has been on TV for so long, and people have invited her into their homes for years. Therefore, it will “take a lot more than a bodyguard and a blogger to change how people feel about her.”
