It has been announced that BRITs Critics’ Choice 2018 winner Jorja Smith will perform at this year’s ceremony alongside 2017 winner Rag’N’Bone Man.

Rag’N’Bone Man, whose debut album Human became the fastest selling UK male debut of the decade last year, invited the upcoming RnB star to perform alongside him on the night. This will be the first time in BRITs history that a Critics’ Choice winner performs on the main show in the same year that they won the award. It will also be the first time that two Critics’ Choice winners perform together at the ceremony.

Speaking about the news, Jorja said: “I can’t believe I’ll be performing at The BRIT Awards. Rag’n’Bone Man has had an incredible year and is such a crazy talent. When he asked me at the end of last year to perform I was so happy as it’s a real honour to be sharing the stage with him.”

BRITs Chairman & CEO and Chairman of Sony Music UK & Ireland Jason Iley added: “t will be an amazing moment from two incredible artists: One artist who has achieved huge success last year performing with another artist who is about to do the same this year. Jorja’s performance on the launch show was simply stunning and I cannot wait to see her perform with Rag’n’Bone Man on the main show.”

Jorja recently performed her new single ‘Let Me Down’ featuring Stormzy during The BRITs nominations launch. The dramatic video for the song dropped on Thursday (January 18).

This year’s BRIT Awards will take place on February 21. Hosted by Jack Whitehall, the ceremony will be broadcast live from the O2 Arena, with additional performances from Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Stormzy, Dua Lipa and Foo Fighters.

Dua Lipa leads this year’s nominations, with five nods. Not only is she the most nominated act this year, but she also receives the most nominations ever for a female solo artist. Ed Sheeran is the most nominated male, with four nods.
